Dear Friend,
I want to welcome you to Highlands Baptist Church. This a wonderful place, where the currents of love run deep. We are blessed with a strong core of wise and mature Christians who have been walking with Jesus for many years, but we also have newer Christians who are learning to follow Christ. Whether you’re young or old in the faith—or still searching for what only Jesus can supply—you are welcome here! My responsibility and goal is to present the Scripture to you clearly and enthusiastically in all its life-transforming power, so that you can know Christ better and follow Him more faithfully. For that reason, I preach the Bible as the true and authoritative word of God. The sermons here are driven by the Biblical text (saying what Scripture says, the way Scripture says it), not by human agendas. God’s word is far more important than my opinions, and it is the only message God has promised to bless in your life. While we take God and His word seriously, don’t worry… we don’t take ourselves very seriously at all! We know that as Christians we’re all still sinners in whom the Holy Spirit is at work. If that’s you too, then you’ll fit right in. So, come on over and join us this Sunday for worship. We’ll help you feel comfortable without smothering you. And, best of all, we’ll help you shift your focus off of your circumstances and onto the only Lord who can save you through them.
